violet snow

i've seen this before
but today, i know
 it's turkey!
(there were tracks)
they've been foraging on
 wild grapes, so abundant
 last fall
and then
 above and below
lives
a reflection
 fine walk
a mild winter day
gray and quiet

  5. hehehe. i stopped at a redlight a few days ago and heard what sounded like rain....hmmm no not rain.

my car was a mess from the great many birds warming on one of the main wires.

we've had no winter to speak of this year. slightly cool, drizzly days.

  10. we have had the same color arise lately. on the backs of the sheep's coats there have been red stains. the first I found of it was a plop in the barnyard and thought "holy crap, a sheep lost a tooth!"
    good antioxidants

  11. Your sweet woofie looks splendid in her winter coat!
And my goodness, purple poop?! The things I learn out here on the internet....

  12. nancy, wouldn't that be an interesting dye process, bird poop (mordant: unnecessary), if only you could assign one sheep and de-coat her, and see what the birds make of it! or, tie silk on the coats backs!
sweetpea, she has bounced back into health in a surprising way.

  13. I love the photo of you doggy. I don't know what the Adirondack Blue Line is! I have relatives who live in Cold Brook, NY. :-)

  14. morna, the blue line was drawn by a legislator in the 18 somethings around this place, the adirondack forest preserve and it is *forever wild*.
