a week of hearts

 from my sweetie
yep
(and for a wanderer who loves roses)
 anonymous valentine
though i THINK i know who!
somewhere not too far away, perhaps?
(you should feel this!)
 and carol
who knows my weakness
(at least one of them)
she also sent me a few things to ponder
when weavers
and cloth
were treasures
 memories tied into string
 AND an amazing piece of paper
 i wish i could claim it
 as my own creation
but i DO get to touch and
maybe
sew on it
flax, konnyaku, indigo, kakishibu
absolutely sublime
~~~
happy winter break to me!
  1. Wow, what a great collection of gifts... nice to get so many things in the mail other than those windowed envelopes! I was quite short on valentine's cards this year (like 0), but quite abundant on so many other things I really can't complain.
  9. Oh.... what a delight to find these precious things waiting for you to open Velma!
    Intrigued by the Earth drawing thats for sure.. the memories tied to the string is an idea I was once introduced to and is very beautiful... this is so simple yet powerful!
    And those hearts and the rose... the colour!
    Hope this week is a good one for you!
  10. i am so lucky to have friends and one very special person who brought the rose, first one in 20 years, therefore very much a surprise and delight.
    wondering if all my memories are woven into cloth...
